Shaped by the tradition and know-how of fine cutlery, Tarrerias-Bonjean, supplier to the French Army, has been manufacturing in Thiers (France) for over 5 generations. In 1992, Tarrerias-Bonjean began its collaboration with the French Army by developing tools for military use. The first product to meet these requirements was the Bivouac®. Now legendary, this field knife was part of soldiers' kit from 1996 to 2001. A model of efficiency, the Bivouac® was patented for its slide system, which allows cutlery to be integrated into the knife. The Bivouac®, designed with the resources available at the time (aluminum and wooden models), was conceived around the "all-in-one" concept. It also features a pump mechanism for blade locking. It is often known as a Tatou or Tatoo.
